Two Years

Jack at 2 years:

says "bye bye" and does a little wave up by his ear. He'll say it to everyone. From the cashier at Walmart to the person taking our order at the drive thru.

lines up his Matchbox cars in a neat row (taught to him by my cousin's older daughter Carly.)

likes to read Good Night Moon again at bedtime.

presses his finger alongside his nose and blows out for his version of "shhh." He does it whenever he sees or is told Charlie is sleeping, when he sees someone with his eyes closed and at the part in Good Night Moon when the old woman says "hush."

says "wow!" when we get to the page in Goodnight Lake where it says Wow, the great lakes are so bg you can't see across them.

blows on the grill to help Tim get the fire started.

says "ah hey" to mean "ok."

blows on all his food whether it is hot or cold.

brings all his books downstairs or stacks them neatly at the top of the stairs each morning. He also brings the stool for the rocking chair to the top of the stairs.

says "beep beep" or "move" usually in regards to Ranger.

regardless of how hot it is he will wear the knit hat I have in the garage.

says "oh my, "oh no" and "oh well" all the time. If there is even the smallest piece of lint or a drop of water on the ground he will point to it and say "oh no!"

loves his fruit punch and does not want it watered down.

makes a smacking sound when he gives kisses.

says "hot" in regards to just about everything from the light to the grill to his bath water.

turns lamps on and off.

says "baby" in the cutest little voice. So sweet.

says "momma" "dadda" and "daddy" all the time now. When he sees photos of us he will says momma and/or dadda. Any time he sees a truck he says dadda.

has his own pair of sunglasses that he wears all the time.

pretneds to juggle by holding a ball in each hand and moving his arms up and down.

managed to get on the boat by pushing the slide over to the boat and climbing up it and over to the boat.

got a scratch on his ankle and milked it for all it was worth. Every time we turned around he was pointing to it and saying "ouch."

pretends to spray you with sunblock or with a spray bottle.

says "oh no!" when Charlie drools, which is pretty much all the time.

must have all the doors shut. The doors on the 2nd floor must be shut AND locked.

says "night, night."

has poured water from the baby pool on Charlie twice.

says "woo, woo" when he sees a bird.

likes playing with Playdoh again.

loves cheese. He could eat those little breadsticks that you dip into cheese all day long.

has a pretty involved bedtime routine. After his bath and a bottle of milk while watching Nina and Star, we go upstairs, he turns on the lamp by the chair, we read a book twice, he turns off the light, turns on the CD player, runs over and turns on the aquarium night light, points to the little fan next to his bed so I will turn it on, then finally gets into the crib with his caterpillar, dog and bear. He says "night, night" and "bye, bye" over and over as I walk out the door.

likes to alternate between the big boy and baby swing.

loves to color.

run to the rug by the backdoor and sits down so that Tim can put his shoes on.

has really expanded his vocabulary in the last month.

is such an amazing little boy. We are lucky to have him in our life. He makes everyday an adventure.
